Rafael Nadal waited a long time to step onto the court but once he did he looked impressive against Sinner whom he defeated to reach another Roland Garros semifinal.
The final match of yesterday's Roland Garros schedule finished today as the players stepped off the court at approximately 1:30 in the morning. Nonetheless, Nadal was all smiles after the match when he said:
“I’m very, very happy to be in the semi-finals again here at Roland Garros. No doubt that this is the most important place for me and the most beautiful place to play. [I'm] just very, very happy.”
Nadal didn't go in-depth talking about the match as it was quite late but he did give a quick remark regarding his next opponent Diego Schwartzman. The Argentinian played a sensational match against Dominic Thiem defeating him in just over 5 hours of play. Of that match Nadal said:
“Today he played an amazing match against one of the best players of the world, without a doubt, especially on this surface. He's coming with big confidence. He's in the final in Rome, he's in the semi-finals here. He beat me there. It's a plus of confidence for him. I know that. I'm going to try to go on court, play my best, try to play my game, play aggressive, try to do something a little bit different than what I did in Rome, of course. Hope to be ready to play my best. That's what I need.”
