Novak Djokovic has achieved greatness in tennis including a record breaking haul of Grand Slam titles but also defied seemingly history in the latest statistic unearthed after his
Roland Garros triumph.
Djokovic is simultaneously the oldest but also youngest Roland Garros winner. But how is that possible?
It shows the relevance still of the Big Three as at the age of 36, he became the oldest Roland Garros champion.
Thus beating out Rafael Nadal who was 35 years old and 11 months old when he won last year. This likely will be improved upon next year if either then win the title.
But with Rafael Nadal winning all but two of the Roland Garros titles, he also becomes the youngest winner.
Nadal has 14 titles and Roger Federer and Stan Wawrinka are the only players to break that mould.
All three of them are older than Djokovic as are all the champions that won the event before the big three making this baffling statistic seem more real.
