Reports from the USA suggest that the BNP Paribas Open held in Indian Wells might get cancelled again.
The event was cancelled just days ahead of starting in 2020 due to the worsening situation in the United States of America at the time and now there are some reports that a similar thing might happen again. The event which is traditionally the first Masters event held is immensely important for the local economy and usually features very strong events.
A hefty prize pool and the fact that it's the first Masters draw the best of tennis regularly to this event. There is no official statement yet but there are very strong rumours that the event is going to be cancelled 3 months ahead of its supposed go-ahead date. The rumours name the announcement as "imminent". It also suggests that both the ATP and WTA are notified of the cancellation and are working to adjust their schedule.
