Great Britain's
Heather Watson is currently in Dubai where she is participating at the Al Habtoor Tennis Challenge, and the former British No.1 took some time to practice with teammate
Andy Murray.
"He’s [Murray] has done a lot, not just for British tennis but for the sport worldwide," Watson said after their training session. "We’ve spent a good six weeks getting ready for the challenges ahead and I feel I am on the right path as I continue learning all the time.”
“I know that I just need to believe in myself and keep going and the results will follow. This is the mind set going deep into this week,” she added.
Watson also aims to compete for Great Britain at the Olympic Games in Tokyo next summer. The 28-year old's best performance at the Games was a mixed-doubles quarterfinals appearance, and she hopes to better this result when the Olympics kick-off in July next year.
“A third Olympic Games would definitely mean a lot to me," Watson revealed. "Going to Tokyo next year is definitely among my biggest goals at the moment.
I had already made the cut for Tokyo but now with the one-year delay, things are going to be different. But, I am absolutely confident I can make the cut again. I am playing well and should be at my best soon.”
