BNP Paribas Open
Indian Wells will have several
notable players in the doubles event, including
Casper Ruud with
Dominic Thiem,
or Russia's
Andrey Rublev with
Karen Khachanov.
The doubles draw usually receives less attention than
singles duels. Most of the top players in the ATP singles rankings hardly play
doubles tournaments, unlike the women's side where several of the best players
in the world play singles and doubles every week.
The ATP Master 1000 doubles draw features top players who
are not used to playing with a partner, giving fans the chance to see them at
both events during the same weeks. Among the main duos are former US Open
champion Dominic Thiem and world No.4 Casper Ruud. Also, the Russians Andrey
Rublev with Karen Khachanov used their privileged place in the ranking to take
a place in the doubles.
After the publication of the entry list, there are
several fans who are eager for the California tournament to begin, to see
several of the unprecedented pairs.
