Isner and Sock end Kyrgios/Kokkinakis dream doubles run at Indian Wells

The magical run of Aussies Nick Kyrgios and Thanasi Kokkinakis came to an end on Sunday at the BNP Paribas Open Indian Wells, as the duo lost in a thrilling doubles match to the American pairing of Jack Sock and John Isner.

Kyrgios and Kokkinakis had been undefeated this year in doubles, with the pair stunning the tennis world after the claimed the doubles title at the 2022 Australian Open as wildcards. However, the duo finally met their match when they faced Isner and Sock, who had lifted the Indian Wells doubles title in 2018.

In a highly anticipated encounter on Court 1, the American duo prevailed 6-3 7-6(3) to hand the 'Special K's" their first loss of the season. They now face another deadly tandem in the form of Stefanos Tsitsipas and Feliciano Lopez, who lifted the title in Acapulco a few weeks ago.
