John Isner has achieved a brilliant feat at the Shanghai Masters by hitting 1,000 aces in a season having arrived into the contest against Novak Djokovic with 998.
It is the sixth time though that he has achieved this feat and for the fourth year in a row. He also finished as the ace leader also six times (2010, 2012-13 and 2016-18) and could be on course to do so again.
It is a feat also only achieved by Goran Ivanisevic before him and he has Ivo Karlovic in his sights which could feasibly be achieved within 2 years if he keeps up his 1,000 per year form.
