Jannik Sinner produced a 'Double Dutch' win during the night as after taking down Botic van de Zandschulp, it was Jesper de Jong who was next to be defeated by the Italian ace who is searching instead for Baywatch as he left the crowd in stitches on court.
Sinner sealed the win over De Jong 6-2, 6-2, 6-2 and said that he will likely stick to his routine post-match on his day off as he said it has been paying dividends as of late with a lot of fresh confidence as the Italian is in the form of his life.
“For sure, the team gives me a lot of confidence, what the right decision is. But in other way, I feel like I have to [create a] process. And every day gives me a chance to get better. And this is what I tried to do two days ago and also yesterday. [So] today I showed a very good level,” Sinner said during his on-court interview.
“Tomorrow again I have again, a day off. Trying to practice myself into the match rhythm, obviously,” he added.
But it was comments on Baywatch that made the crowd laugh as he spoke about the endless struggle many have going to the gym and that isn't being as ripped as those who were in the TV show starring Pamela Anderson and David Hasslehoff.
“Of course, all muscle,” Sinner said on his current physique before backtracking. “Unfortunately, not, but it’s okay. I’m happy with my physicality at the moment.”
“Of course, it’s a dream to have like the Baywatch physicality, but it’s okay,” he joked.
