Rafael Nadal will try to make it to 23 grand slams at this year's US Open and speaking ahead of the event, the Spaniard revealed tennis is mostly about adapting.
Nadal would know a thing or two about tennis since the Spaniard is one of the best to ever do it. Some would say he's the best to ever do it but wars have been started for less. His return to Cincinnati was less than great as he stumbled against Coric immediately.
The silver lining was that he was able to get to New York earlier and practice on Ashe head of his return to the event for the first time since 2019. After one of his practices, Nadal expressed the need to adapt to every opponent to be successful.
"To feel that I am in control of the point, but it's about adapting yourself every day and against every opponent, and practising with different kinds of opponents helps you to be ready."
Adding further:
"I am not practising today. Normally when I go in afternoon practices, like yesterday, you have a plan, you have a goal for the next couple of days, things you want to improve, and you work on it."
