"It's illegal to do death threats": Aneke Rune responds after Holger Rune sent death threats after Ruud Acapulco loss

Holger Rune is the latest to have a light shone on vile abuse that he has suffered after losing to Casper Ruud in the semi-finals of Mexican Open Acapulco. Defeated by the Norwegian in an entertaining clash 6-3, 3-6, 4-6 in the semi-final, it was his mother that shared the screenshot.

Aneke Rune shared the email that was sent to him as he becomes the latest after Daria Kasatkina, Linda Noskova, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Taylor Fritz' girlfriend Morgan Riddle among others have shared messages they've received from accounts mainly in the case of the former few after losing a tight match. The same can be said for Rune.

It was a good week for Rune who reached the semi-finals in his first full week back with Patrick Mouratoglou, but instead of that being celebrated it was marred by abuse that he received.

"u f*cking son of a wh*re. I'm waiting for you. I will hunt you down and stick a knife in your neck. then I'll cut off your stupid head. it will be all over the news. damn, this will be a lesson to the rest. f*cking scum. I'm coming for you. you will die from a dull knife," wrote the abuser in an email to Rune.

But the mother of the Dane put the abuser on blast and shared the email ID saying it was illegal to send death threats. "If anyone know this idiot do tell him that it's illegal to do death threats," Aneke Rune replied.
