Nick Kyrgios picked
Rafael Nadal over
Roger Federer and
Novak Djokovic in the GOAT debate in a recent interview with Spanish paper Ultima Hora.
The GOAT debate will forever be a thing in tennis because it's simply too hard to realistically separate Djokovic, Nadal and Federer. Most people tend to use several stats in determining who is ahead in what but all of them have some records the other doesn't. Rafael Nadal currently holds the record for most grand slam singles titles with 22 and at least for Kyrgios it matters.
He said:
"I think it's Rafael Nadal [who is the greatest of the Big-3 for me]. He now has 22 Grand Slams and the other two have twenty."
The mercurial Australian, who is in line to compete in the Mallorca Championships in the lead-up to Wimbledon, also touched on his own tennis career in the interview. He said:
"I love that people follow me and come to see me in the different tournaments, and that they like my way to play I am proud of my style. Being able to prove it is also a reward for me."
