Rafael Nadal has always spoken positively about feeling grateful for his career and that's understandable cause it's one of the greatest tennis careers of all time.
Rafael Nadal is an extremely competitive player and everybody that has ever watched him play understands that. Some of the victories he was able to achieve over the course of his career have been iconic and his career which is still ongoing is undeniably one of the greatest ever in tennis. Even with that, Nadal was never obsessed with records oftentimes speaking about how grateful he felt about his career.
The Spaniard also refused to put additional pressure on himself explaining that while he enjoys winning there are more important things than that. In a recent interview, Nadal echoed similar statements respecting the comparison between players while also admitting that it doesn't matter to him that much.
He said:
"The numbers should be analyzed by people who have good knowledge of the history of tennis. Honestly,
it does not matter to me much; I'm happy with my career."
Still showing a little care about the subject Nadal admitted that he should be considered one of the greatest to ever do it:
"At the moment,
it's clear that I'm one of the two. We'll see what happens in the next
few years: what Djokovic does, what Federer does when he returns, and
what I keep doing. If all goes well, we'll have time to analyze it when
our careers are over."
