Jan-Lennard Struff has carried his form over to the grass court season with a superb win over Tommy Paul to reach the Quarter-Final at the Stuttgart Open.
Struff and Paul was an interesting match with both keeping pace also in the ATP Race after good starts to the season with the former in particular having a huge rise during clay.
This has seen him drop down the rankings initially and have to qualify for many tournaments to rising alongside compatriot Daniel Altmaier.
Pre match, Struff had a horrific record against Paul going 0-9 in sets before today. But he erased that with two tie-breaks to seal the win.
It was a 7-6(4), 7-6(5) victory and is his second career top 20 win on grass in 22 matches. Next up will be Stefanos Tsitsipas or Richard Gasquet.
This after previous matches were set as Lorenzo Musetti faces Frances Tiafoe, Marton Fucsovics takes on Taylor Fritz and Hubert Hurkacz will face Christopher O'Connell.
