World No. 1 Jannik Sinner shared his first video on social media for his newly launched YouTube channel, featuring a vlog of his journey at the Australian Open, where he claimed his third Grand Slam title by defeating Alexander Zverev 6-3, 7-6, 6-3.
The Italian star shined at Melbourne Park, as seen in his debut YouTube video, which offers behind-the-scenes footage of his road to the title. The video opens with Sinner reflecting on his fourth-round victory over Denmark’s Holger Rune, a match where he struggled with health issues midway through.
“Yesterday I played against Holger. It was a very hot day, I was not feeling very well. I’m feeling better today. The weather can be very hot, cold, windy—it changes very, very fast. Tomorrow is around 20 degrees, yesterday was 25,” the world No. 1 said at the start of the video while packing his things before heading to practice.
The over 8-minute video features clips of Sinner training with his team, signing autographs for fans, and, of course, the moment he lifted his second Australian Open trophy. The Italian spoke about the effort it took to win the title, especially the work players put in behind the scenes, away from the spotlight.
“The best thing is to celebrate in a nice way with the people who I really care about and who are here. Also, you standing behind the camera,” he said. “It’s amazing, because people only see what we do on court, but off-court is what really matters. That’s where you build your life, your future. These days are rare—winning tournaments, no matter how big they are.”
Sinner recently withdrew from the Rotterdam Open, which begins on Monday, February 3, and where he was the defending champion, meaning he will not be able to defend his title. The Italian is set to return to action in the Middle East Swing, where he will be the top seed at the Qatar Open in Doha.
