Jannik Sinner replaced Matteo Berrettini in the ATP Finals and he made the Italian crowd proud by playing an amazing match to defeat Hubert Hurkacz.
Jannik Sinner got a chance to play in the ATP Finals against a good friend of his Hubert Hurkacz and the Italian snatched the opportunity with both hands. Sinner started teh match of energetically with a lot of aggresion. He attacked Hurkacz at every chance he got and the Polish player made it quite easy for him missing a lot of first serves.
Sinner's forehand was on fire and he took an early break rather quickly which boosted his confidence. The Italian crowd was also enjoying themselves in the match and everything was lining up perfectly for the Italian. He raced to an easy 6-2 first set finish as Hurkacz was struggling to find his rhythm. Nothing worked for him, his serving was not very good and even when he tried to be more aggressive it resulted in errors.
The level he showed against Medvedev was far away and Sinner was able to take advantage of that. The 2nd set was a bit better by Hurkacz as he played competitively for the first few games. Eventually, Sinner once again took the break and after that, the Polish player simply fell apart. There was no energy in his play and his confidence completely tanked.
Sinner was able to add another break before finishing off the match with 6-2.
