There has been much debate regarding who is the greatest tennis player of all time, with many fans split between
Roger Federer,
Rafael Nadal and
Novak Djokovic. However, retired American pro
Andy Roddick believes it may come down to a case of who has the most titles.
Roddick, a one-time Grand Slam champion (2003 US Open). has faced all three men and is of the opinion that if Novak Djokovic retires with the most Grand Slam titles, then it would be difficult to argue against the Serbian being the GOAT.
"I'll say it very clearly, if Djokovic ends his career with the most Grand Slams titles of all time it is a statistical impossibility to argue against him being the greatest based on numbers," said Roddick in an interview with The Tennis Channel.
Federer, Nadal and Djokovic are all tied at 20 Grand Slams apiece, which is the most won by any male tennis player in the Open Era. With the 2022
Australian Open around the corner, each man has the opportunity to grab sole place atop the table.
