Miomir Kecmanovic has claimed his first ATP tour level trophy at the Generali Open Kitzbuhel on Sunday defeating Yannick Hanfmann 6-4, 6-4.
At last year's Antalya Open, he came within a point of his first title but he couldn't get over the line against Lorenzo Sonego.
He was successful this time though and was pleased that his efforts have been capped off with a first title. “It means a lot [to win my first ATP Tour title]. I worked so hard for this," said Kecmanovic. "I am definitely happy that I was able to achieve it so quickly.”
He spoke about that defeat and the experience it gave him coming into this tie against Hanfmann who was also excellent this week. “Last year sucked when I couldn’t win the final. I definitely have a lot more experience since then and it means everything to be able to win a title,” said Kecmanovic.
