The Special K's are into the
Japan Open semi-finals after beating Martinez and Zapata Mirallas in two sets 7-5 6-4.
The Australian combo played another solid doubles match albeit not as dominant as their previous one. They faced a Spanish combination that proved quite tricky in this match although the Aussie prevailed in the end. Kyrgios and Kokkinakis applied heavy pressure from the start of the match but they were unable to take the lead.
They finally did so at 4-4 taking a 5-4 lead but dropped the serve immediately. A furious Kyrgios lead the charge to finish off the opening set 7-5 with some amazing play. Things were a bit easier in the second set as they were able to find a breakthrough quicker this time around.
Taking a 3-2 lead Kyrgios and Kokkinakis had a chance to make it a double lead break but failed to do so with the Spaniards keeping it close. They actually broke back to make it 4-4 but the Aussies went ahead once more 5-4. They faced 0-30 when they tried to close out the match and they were able to wiggle their way out of that to avoid three sets.
