Kokkinakis receives Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships wildcard after recent title in Bahrain

Thanasi Kokkinakis will be part of the main draw at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships.
The Australian recently returned to the top 100 of the world rankings thanks to the crown he won at the Bahrain Ministry of Interior Tennis Challenger. After his great performance, he was invited to play the 2023 Dubai Championships through a wildcard and will debut against a qualifier.
At the start of the season, the 26-year-old player has shown that he can experience a renaissance and reach a higher position in the ranking. He already reached the semifinals in Adelaide and amazed everyone with one of the best matches at the 2023 Australian Open, despite losing to former world No. 1 Andy Murray.
He is currently ranked No. 100 in the world, and his best ranking was 69th in 2015. The talented player has dealt with injuries during his career that have prevented him from achieving regularity on the tour.
