Kyrgios lambasts pre US Open schedule - "Why is there clay leading up to the US Open swing"

Nick Kyrgios is not fond of clay and neither is he shy about expressing his opinion publicly and the two worlds collided in a recent Twitter comment.

Kyrgios last played at Wimbledon where he lost in the Wimbledon final to Novak Djokovic and since then it's been vacationing for him. Having a base established in the Bahamas is not a bad way to do it because his home essentially is a luxury resort but despite being on vacation, Kyrgios still has tennis on his mind.

He is set to return to playing in Atlanta where he will start his US Open preparation. The event is a hard court one and it makes perfect sense hence why he questioned the ATP publicly about having clay events leading up to the hard court major in New York.

The ATP Tour Twitter profile posted a graphic showing the seeds of the Gstaad event on clay and Kyrgios in his typical fashion bluntly questioned why players are even playing on clay:

"Why is there clay leading up to the US Open swing"
