Kyrgios makes statement after entering guilty plea for assault but avoiding charges: "I know it wasn't ok and I am sincerely sorry for the hurt I caused"

Nick Kyrgios pleaded guilty to his assault charges against his former ex-girlfriend but he wasn't convinced for which he expressed gratitude in a statement following the trial.

Kyrgios appeared in court a few hours ago pleading guilty to the assault charges against his former girlfriend. He confirmed that he pushed her which is an action he deeply regrets but the judge did not convict him. Kyrgios released a statement sometime after the court appearance apologizing for his actions:

“I respect today’s ruling and I am grateful to the court for dismissing the charges without conviction. I was not in a good place when this happened and I reacted to a difficult situation in a way I deeply regret. I know it wasn’t OK and I am sincerely sorry for the hurt I caused. Mental health is tough. Life can seem overwhelming. But I have found that getting help and working on myself has allowed me to feel better. I can never thank Costeen, my family and friends enough for supporting me through this process. I now plan to focus on recovering from injury and moving forward in the best way possible.
