Nick Kyrgios

Fan favourite Kyrigos was on the court for his 2nd round match against Gilles Simon and managed to defeat him in straight sets to advance to the next Round

Gilles Simon is a tough opponent for anybody even at this advanced age. His calmness and ability to defend can be like playing against a wall and Kyrgios is somewhat known as a hothead might have troubles with that. In the first round, he easily defeated Sonego but Simon is a much tougher opponent.
The first set saw Kyrgios being extremely focused concentrating on serving well because it was key. He played well, hit all his serves and took advantage of somewhat of shaky start by Simon. It took only 27 minutes for Nick to win the first set 6-2. The 2nd set saw a much-improved quality of play from Simon as settled from his nervous beginning.
Kyrgios continued to play his game never allowing much to his opponent on his own serve. Ultimately he once again managed to break his opponent in a key moment of the set and win it 6-4. The 3rd set saw similar play with Kyrgios dominating on his own serve for the majority of the set.
He would ultimately go on to lose that set after stringing 3 terrible games where he failed to win one single point on his serve. Gilles's persistence proved key as finally managed to get under Kyrgios's skin making him do loads of unforced errors.
The 4th set was largely uninteresting in the beginning. Both players were serving good and winning their own games. The key moment came in the 11th game when Kyrgios broke his opponents serve to take the 6-5 lead. He would go onto to hold his serve and secure a valuable victory against a tough opponent.
