Lorenzo Musetti becomes a father for the first time as Carlos Alcaraz, Boris Becker among others congratulate Italian

Italian tennis star Lorenzo Musetti has announced the arrival of his first child. The 22-year-old announced the development on the social media platform Instagram with the caption "15.03.2024 🎈LUDOVICO, Good morning world.”

A host of tennis stars including the likes of current world number two Carlos Alcaraz, the former world number one Boris Becker and Leylah Fernandez.

"Congratulations Lorenzo!!,” wrote Alcaraz. "Congratulations 🙌🙌🙌," wrote Becker. "Congratulations!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰,” wrote Marta Kostyuk. "Omg! Congratulations Lorenzo!!!,” wrote Fernandez.

Musetti recently took part in the Indian Wells where he was knocked out of the competition after losing in the round of 32 to Denmark’s Holger Rune in straight sets with a score of 6-2, 7-6.

The result was another disappointing one for the Carrara-born who has had a difficult beginning to the 2024 season. In the first Grand Slam of the year — the Australian Open — he was knocked out after losing in the second round to Luca Van Assche with a score of 6-3, 3-6, 6-7, 6-3, 6-0.

After that, the current world number 26 lost in the round of 16 of the Open 13, in the round of 32 in Rotterdam, in the first round of the Qatar Open and the Dubai Duty-Free Championship.
