“Grigor Dimitrov is an exceptional player": Lorenzo Musetti praises Paris Masters finalist ahead of Sofia Open

Following his exceptional run to the final at the 2023 Paris Masters, Grigor Dimitrov has been lauded by many, including Italian colleague Lorenzo Musetti.

Musetti is currently in Bulgaria for the Sofia Open, where he hopes to go one step better after falling in the semifinals at last year's edition. However, the World No.27 took some time to praise local hero Dimitrov, who will not be participating in his hometown event.

"He played well, he showed good form, particularly in the last months," said the 21-year old. "Grigor is an exceptional person and tennis player, who inspires me and our entire generation of younger players."

Musetti, who climbed as high as World No.15 in June, is hoping to end the year on a good note in Sofia after a string of disappointing results.

"I want to play in the last week of the season because my results lately have not been good," admitted the top-seed. "That is why I hope to do everything possible in Sofia to upgrade compared to last year so that I can finish the season with positive emotions."
