Despite being a newcomer to the main draw of the ATP Tour, Hungarian tennis player Fabian Marozsán has already established a record that surpasses that set by tennis greats Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal.
The 24-year old has had arguably the best week of his professional career at the 2024 Miami Open, where he defeated ninth seed Alex De Minaur to reach the quarterfinal of the ATP Masters 1000 event. Marozsán made quick work of World No.7 Holger Rune in the second round, dropping just two games as his confidence continues to grow with each stroke of his racket.
The World No.57 has been on a tear over the past week and a half in Miami, leading to him setting a new record on the ATP Tour. Considering players have have competed in a minimum of at least 10 matches, Marozsán has accrued an 82.3% win rate at ATP Masters 1000 tournaments, since the events inception in 1990. This surpasses the previous record held by 22-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal, who held the previous win rate record at 82.2%. World No.1 Novak Djokovic comes in at a close third place, with a win rate record of 82.1%. Marozsán will hope to improve his win rate percentage when he takes on German superstar Alexander Zverev in the quarterfinals.
