America’s tennis star
Taylor Fritz is furious with the way his
comments about the Olympics are being portrayed. Recently, the world number 10 was
quoted by different media outlets saying that the mega-event is not ideal for
tennis players, especially the ones who are from America as it directly collides
with the domestic season.
Fritz, while responding to a post on social media platform X
— previously known as Twitter — expressed his anger by writing: “Answers from 3
different questions all put together as one with no context of the
questions, it literally hurts me to try
and read this…. Makes it look like I can’t speak English.”
Fritz had a more than decent time on the court in 2023
season where he won two ATP titles. He first lifted the Delray Beach Open in February
after defeating Miomir Kecmanovic of Serbia in the final with a score of 6-0,
7-5, 6-2.
He then went on to win the Atlanta Open in July after
defeating Australia’s Aleksandar Vukic in the final with a score of 7-5, 6-7, 6-4.
Fritz’s best outing in a Grand Slam came while playing on
the home soil in the US Open. He went on to lose the current world number one
Serbia’s legendary tennis star Novak Djokovic in straight sets with a score of
6-1, 6-4, 6-4.
