After a torrid time with injury,
Jack Draper continues rolling and showing why he is one of the highest touted British talents for some time with a run to the semi-finals of the 2023
Sofia Open.
The 21-year-old World Number 81 swept past Turkish ace Cem Ilkel 6-2, 6-2 and continued his winning form. This saw him win a Challenger event last week in Bergamo and followed that by heading to Sofia and defeating Lorenzo Musetti on Wednesday.
It was an efficient win for Draper who sealed it in just over 75 minutes not facing a break point throughout proceedings.
Next up will be
Jan-Lennard Struff who took down Fabian Marozsan 7-6(3), 46, 6-4. It will be a feel good story no matter who reaches the final out of the duo.
Struff himself has battled with injuries all year after having his best run on the tour and will potentially put himself in line for his first title for the third time this year. He briefly dethroned Alexander Zverev also earlier this season as Germany's top ranked ATP player for the first time in seven years.
He will have designs on returning to that best and will face Draper tomorrow who himself was touted alongside Alcaraz, Rune and Sinner, but instead has failed yet to live up to potential with undoubted talent but rotten injury luck.
In the other half, Adrian Mannarino again will look for another title. He will be favourite for the title and is facing Sebastian Ofner. While Marton Fucsovics plays Pavel Kotov in the other Quarter-Final with the line-up set at the end of Thursday evening.
