The second semi-final at the 2024 United Cup is finely poised with Alex de Minaur sending it to the deciding doubles after taking down Alexander Zverev in the men's singles tie to make it 1-1.
Earlier on, Angelique Kerber set up the winning position for Zverev as he faced De Minaur who is full of confidence after a superb win over Novak Djokovic and he will be even more so now after his 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 win over the German ace.

WHAT A MOMENT! 24yo Alex De Minaur will become the first Australian player to reach the ATP Top 10 since Lleyton Hewitt in 2006. He beats Alexander Zverev 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 and Australia stays alive at the United Cup semifinals. AUS 1-1 GER, mixed doubles to come!

He will now head into the ATP Top 10 during Monday's ranking update and becomes the first to do so since Lleyton Hewitt back in 2006. This off the back of wins over Taylor Fritz, Novak Djokovic and Zverev this week as he is hitting top form at the right time.
To start off the tie, Zverev got a break opportunity at the death after a back and forth first set and broke to win it 7-5. Neither were impressive on serve in the second, but it was De Minaur who snuffed out a golden opportunity. He took it to lead 5-3. A comfortable hold was next as Zverev got no chance to end it there an then.
De Minaur got the impetus and broke immediately to take a 2-0 lead and in a close tie with Zverev getting little to no opportunity, it was costly as De Minaur pulled off the win from there. Kerber earlier got her first win as a mother against Ajla Tomljanovic but now it will go to mixed doubles. But will the teams change with Zverev and Kerber back together? Find out shortly.
