Elena Rybakina won both of her singles matches to help Kazakhstan advance to the Billie Jean King Cup Finals as the nation defeated Poland 3-1 overall.
It was a good showing from Rybakina as she made her debut on clay this year. Both matches were rather unproblematic for Rybakina as she won in straight sets though she didn't look as dominant as we've gotten used to from her this year. There were some factors impacting her play overall with fatigue playing a part and jet lag as well:
"It was a difficult match today. I felt so tired that even at the end, during the on-court interview, I didn't understand the questions to be honest. I felt better yesterday, maybe some sort of fatigue from flying and a recent return from America to Europe."
She added:
"But, as I say, I am delighted that Kazakhstan have once again made it to the Billie Jean King Cup Finals and we will be able to fly our nation's flag on this big stage."
