Daniil Medvedev is marching towards another final on the grass with the Russian besting Bautista Agut in straight sets 6-2 6-4.
This was set to be an interesting affair and it actually was quite interesting. Mostly due to the fact that Bautista Agut had a lot of chances but the Spaniard never quite found a way to convert one. He was also unable to handle Medvedev and his intensity because the Russian opted to be very aggressive in this one. Bautista is a precision player and Medvedev used that against him.
Bautista had a break point at 2-1 in the first set but after that, his game completely fell apart. Medvedev was simply a wall and he hit some tremendous shots from the baseline. He went 4-0 since saving that break point to win the opening set 6-2.
The Spaniard had a lot of issues on his 2nd serve winning only 3 points. The Russian continued playing a similar game but he played a bit too loose to start the 2nd set. Bautista had two break points in the 2nd game however once again he failed to use them. From there it was the same story as in the opening set with Medvedev applying heavy pressure on Bautista.
He got the break and he finished it off with 6-4. The key stat in this one is Medvedev saving all nine break points he saved. His opponent faced only 5 but Medvedev converted three of them and that was the difference.
