Medvedev eases past Coric to win third title of the season at St Petersburg Open

Daniil Medvedev has not only confirmed his debut at the ATP Finals in London but has also claimed a third title of the season defeating Borna Coric with ease at the St Petersburg Open.

Medvedev won 6-3, 6-1 in his fifth consecutive final after the Russian has reached them at Washington, Montreal, Cincinnati and the US Open showing his form on the hard courts in particular.

It is also a first title in his home country and one that due to the opposition involved this week and the amount of tennis that Daniil has played shows his true form.

Coric tried to keep Medvedev off balance adding slices to his game to try to throw him off but this didn't work with the Russian adapting and from there he was able to break Coric a couple of times without ever facing a break point himself.

Due to the victory he will receive 250 ATP Ranking points which will put him closer to the top players in the world and as well as $203,410 in prize money.
