Daniil Medvedev defeated Rafael Nadal in the second semifinal match to book his first final at the ATP Finals.
After winning only 1 set last year, the young Russian came to 2020 ATP Finals with expectations to win at least his first match. However, he is much more successful than that as he's still undefeated and will play the final in London. After winning his group without losing a set, he faced Rafael Nadal in the semifinals.
The match started better for the Spaniard when he avoided 3 breakpoints and then converted his only to win the first set 6-3. In the second set, he was already serving for a match, however, the Russian managed to win 7 points in a row to force the tie-break in the second set.
That one, he managed to win and force the third deciding set. In the first set, he was almost flawless when he broke Nadal twice and won 6-3 to book his spot in the final against Dominic Thiem.
