Former top player
Milos Raonic made a return to tennis in Den Bosch against
Miomir Kecmanovic and he proved as good as ever taking him down 6-3 6-4.
Losing to a player that didn't play a single match in two years isn't the greatest of looks for Kecmanovic. He didn't play a good match but to be fair, Raonic did play a fairly decent one in his return on grass. This surface brought him some of the biggest joy in life as he proved very good on it for many years but injuries have kept him away from the sport in the past few years.
The Canadian is now back and he made a really good start by beating Kecmanovic. He took an early lead but Kecmanovic broke back immediately to make it 2-2. For the rest of the set Raonic mostly dominated on his serve without too many issues while Kecmanovic greatly struggled to win his own service games. Eventually, Raonic was able to break Kecmanovic to finish things 6-3 in the opening set where he had 5 aces and 7 double faults.
It took the Canadian a while to find his best serve but he did eventually find it in the second set. He was spectacular on his serve in the second set, most likely as a result of the confidence that he got from winning the opening set. He had 10 aces and no double faults losing only 3 points behind his first serve in the entire match.
Quite a great comeback from Raonic who might prove a factor in the grass season with the way he is playing right now. He'll certainly improve and nobody will want to play him on grass. That serve can be very hard to navigate and his ranking will make him a landmine moving forward.
