Gael Monfils has struggled for form since his return but went to the well and produced some magical tennis in a night to savour for the Frenchman at Roland Garros.
Monfils is through to the second round of the French Open after a marathon 3-6, 6-3, 7-5, 1-6, 7-5 win in a special atmosphere as he came from 0-4 and 4-5 down in the 5th to seal it.

Elina Svitolina, his wife also watched on and was fist-pumping every shot just like the crowd and it goes to show never count Gael Monfils out.
Post match, he was on the floor in tears after winning from a seemingly unwinnable position in one of the best moments so far this year. He now faces Holger Rune in the next round if he has anything left in the tank.
