Mubadala World Tennis Championships to return in December

The famous Mubadala World Tennis Championship will later this year with a stellar lineup according to the organizers.
The tennis event held at the start of the year in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates will return in 2022 with a strong event. The last time the event was held was in 2019 as the pandemic prevented the event from going ahead in 2020. The 13th edition of the event will be held this year from December 16th till December 18th. The announcement of the event feature a statement that reads:
“Since its inception, the Mubadala World Tennis Championship has proven to be incredibly popular with people from Abu Dhabi and around the world, so to be able to announce its return, with fans in attendance, is a very special moment for us. We challenge ourselves with each edition to provide an unmissable experience for all our audiences, from tennis fans and live event loyalists to families and international visitors. We look forward to announcing another world-class line-up and welcome the world’s best tennis players back to Abu Dhabi."
The statement was signed by John Lickerish, the CEO of the ownership group of the event. Rafael Nadal is the reigning champion but it's questionable whether he will return in 2021 to the event. He bested Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final and it's widely expected that the Greek will return to the event in 2021. It remains to be seen what the full field will be but the organizers promise a strong one.
