The mixed doubles action also continues at the 2020 Australian Open with a mix of both first and second round ties taking place in Melbourne.
Among the top names through include Jamie Murray and Bethanie Mattek-Sands. The duo well known for their US Open triumph defeated top seeds Marcelo Melo and Barbora Strycova in a closely ran affair.
It ended up 3-6, 6-4, 10-7 to the team who will now face the wildcard pairing of Leander Paes and Jelena Ostapenko who defeated fellow Wildcards, Storm Sanders and Marc Polmans.
Sam Stosur and Jean-Julien Rojer, the number 7 seeds also successfully made it through defeating Filip Polasek and Viktoria Kuzmova.
The same can be said for the fifth seeds Barbora Krejcikova and Nikola Mektic who defeated the pairing of Wesley Koolhof and Kveta Peschke.
