Former World No.1
Andy Murray looked good in his first round win at the
Miami Open, as he defeated Federico Delbonis in straight sets.
Murray recorded a 7-6(4) 6-1 victory over the Argentine, relying on his deceptive speed and court coverage to get the job done. The three-time Grand Slam champion was impressive on serve, hitting nine aces while winning 88% of points behind his first serve.
After a tightly contested first set in which there were no breaks of serve, Murray exhibited the poise and expertise that saw him prevail in a close tiebreak. However, the second set was a one-sided affair, as the Brit's relentless attacks saw him break his opponent on three occasions. The 34-year old closed out the match after an hour and 34 minutes, looking every bit as spry as he did prior to his numerous surgeries.
The two-time Miami champion will face the toughest test of his season in the second round, where he is scheduled to face top seed and World No.2 Daniil Medvedev.
