Alexander Zverev kicked off his BNP Paribas Open campaign with a win and that allowed the German to officially qualify for the Nitto
ATP Finals.
It was tougher than expected for Zverev but ultimately the German was able to battle past Jenson Brooksby who plays tremendous tennis on his native soil. The American posses an unconventional game that trouble Zverev for a while but ultimately he was able to rise above it and win the match. The victory is significant because it officially qualified him for the ATP Finals in Turin. On that he said:
“My first time in Turin. I’ve been to London four times before. London is obviously very special to me because I won there, as well. I think the stadium is incredible, one of the most special events that we had."
He further said:
“But I also love playing in Italy. I had great success in Italy. I won my first Masters in Rome. I’m looking forward to being there. I’m looking forward to playing in front of the Italian fans. It’s going to be a great week.”
