Rafael Nadal and Bianca Andreescu will defend their 2019 titles at the National Bank Open in Toronto next month.
Tennis Canada announced that Rafael Nadal and Bianca Andreescu will defend their 2019 titles at next months National Bank Open. The event which was formerly known as the Rogers Cup returns to the calendar after a one-year absence and it will feature strong fields in both ATP and WTA draws.
The ATP event will be held in Toronto while the WTA one will be held in Montreal from August 7th till August 15th. Both events will feature the world number one headlining the field with Novak Djokovic and Ashleigh Barty set to attend.
After the announcment Andreescu said:
“I’m very excited to come back to Montreal and to compete at the
National Bank Open presented by Rogers. As a Canadian, this tournament has a special place in my heart and it is always such a pleasure to play in front of the best fans in the world. Winning the National Bank Open in 2019 was a dream come true, and
I hope I can defend the title next month in Montreal."
