Nadal officially out of Mutua Madrid Open, concern gathers as injury not yet healing ahead of Roland Garros

After withdrawing from Indian Wells, Miami, Monte-Carlo and Barcelona, Rafael Nadal will not play in another home tournament in the run-up to Roland Garros either with Madrid Open now off the cards.
Being played between April 24 - May 7, 2023, it remained one of the final hopes for match practice for the great Spaniard ahead of an attempt to seal a 15th Roland Garros title.

But now it will be firmly Rome or bust for Nadal albeit with further concerning news.
Speaking in a video in Spanish to announce his withdrawal, he said he was initially told it would heal in 6-8 weeks and now he is entering his 14th week and will now start a new treatment.
The race to Roland Garros is still firmly on but with another bump in the road.

- Having spent weeks and weeks through the years on tour, I can say with confidence that Conchita was (is) one of the very few who realize the surprising level of maturity (and sometimes lack of) which Mirra seems to have developed in such a demanding adult world of Pro-Tennis.
