Rafael Nadal is one of the greatest tennis players of all time and his latest achievement just backs that up with the Spaniard overcoming Connor for most consecutive top 10 finishes.
Nadal has not played since the Citi Open in Washington yet he was still able to finish in the top 10 as the Spaniards has been one of the most consistent tennis players since becoming a professional. The Spaniard has always been able to retain his ranking despite having off years on occasion that were mostly derailed by injuries.
2021 was no different with the Spaniard missing a better part of the season having not had a big result since the French Open. The Spaniard skipped the grass season and essentially played only one event since the French Open missing the entire 2nd half of the season. Even so, he was able to retain his top 10 ranking which allowed him to break a big record.
He has now overtaken Jimmy Connors for most consecutive years ended in the top 10. Nadal now sits at 17 with Connors having 16. The next two are Federer at 14 and Lendl at 13. A truly remarkable record for the legendary competitor.
