Rafael Nadal has received treatment for his persistent foot injury which saw him cut short his 2021 campaign before the US Open.
Nadal withdrew from Wimbledon and Tokyo Olympic Games but played at the Citi Open Washington but was noticibly hampered.
He pulled out of Toronto and further tournaments from there before announcing the curtailment of his 2021 efforts.
In a social media post, he said he had completed his treatment which a source said to Reuters did not involve surgery.
"I can tell you I was in Barcelona with my team and medical team to have a treatment to my foot which will need a few days of rest and some weeks out of action," he said. "I'm already home and starting the recovery."
