Rafael Nadal put forward an excellent performance today against an uninspired Dimitrov to cruise to the Monte-Carlo Masters quarterfinal.
To say that this was a one-sided match would be an understatement as Nadal was able to win in less than 60 minutes of play. In total it took him 57 minutes to cruise past Dimitrov 6-1 6-1.
The Bulgarian really did not play well at all today as he opened the match with 3 double faults in a game that he would lose. From there it only got worse as Nadal quickly started dominating the rallies stretching Dimitrov from one side to the other.
The first set was over quickly in just 27 minutes with Nadal coming out on top with 6-1. The 2nd set started strong for Nadal once more as he broke Dimitrov in the first service game. After cruising in his own service game he would add another break for the quick 4-0 lead.
From there it was a straightforward finish for Nadal who looks destined for his 12th Monte-Carlo Masters title. With Djokovic eliminated and Nadal playing superb tennis, it's hard to see anybody who can stop him. The final score was 6-1 6-1 and Nadal moving on after 57 minutes of play.
