Tennis fans around the world now have more details surrounding the blockbuster exhibition showdown between
Rafael Nadal and
Carlos Alcaraz, which will be taking place on March 3, 2024 in Las Vegas, United States.
Nadal has been dealing with injuries since his second round loss at last year's Australian Open, as the Spaniard was forced to miss the rest of the season. Having made his comeback at Brisbane this year, the former World No.1 was unable to compete at the 2024 Australian Open as he aggravated a tear in his hip muscle. However, the 37-year old hopes to return to the tour after taking on Alcaraz in Las Vegas, with the battle set to be showcased on Netflix.
Details revealed for clash against Alcaraz
With the clash set for Las Vegas on March 3, it was announced that their match would take place at 12:30pm local time in Las Vegas, which correlates to 9.30pm in Europe. Their primetime matchup is sure to draw plenty of eyeballs, as Alcaraz has been touted as the future of Spanish tennis. The duo have clashed on three occasions on the ATP Tour, with Nadal holding a 2-1 lead over his compatriot. Fans will be hoping the 23-time Grand Slam champion has fully recovered from his muscle injury, as he recently withdrew from the upcoming
Qatar Open. Nonetheless, the former World No.1 hopes to use the exhibition match as a warm up for the
Indian Wells Masters tournament, which begins on March 6, 2024.
