Rafael Nadal has been voted as the winner of the Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship Award for the fourth consecutive year and the fifth time in his career.
Nadal won the award for the first time in 2010 and has now won an award in each of the categories. In the form of Newcomer (2003), Most Improved (2005), Comeback (2013) and Sportsmanship (2010, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021).
“I can’t be happier to receive one more time the Sportsmanship Award from my colleagues on the Tour. It means a lot to me, so thanks a lot to every player that thinks that I am the right one to receive this award," he said.
He recently made his return to the court at the Mubadala World Tennis Championships losing today to Denis Shapovalov in the third placed play-off.
