The National Bank Open in Toronto and Montreal is coming to a close with only 8 players remaining in both the ATP and WTA draw. Play on quarterfinals day will start a bit later than usual (an hour later) at 18:00 CET. The first quarterfinal on the schedule is between Stefanos Tsitsipa and
Casper Ruud. It's an interesting match where Tsitsipas is heavily favoured despite Ruud defeating him on clay earlier in the year.
The 2nd one will feature Bautista Agut taking on Opelka which should be great fun for the spectators as well as the one after that in which Medvedev takes on Hurkacz. The Russian will be eager for revenge after his loss to Hurkacz at Wimbledon. The final match will feature
John Isner and
Gael Monfils with a great chance for either player for a semifinal.
The WTA draw will kick off its schedule at 18:00 CET with the first quarterfinal between Sabalenka and Azarenka. The match should be a fabulous affair to watch with the playstyles of both Azarenka and Sabalenka. The next one will feature Pliskvoa taking on Sorribes Tormo with the Spanish player being very dangerous on North American hard courts.
The evening schedule will feature more great quarterfinals as Coco Gauff will take on the in-form Giorgi which could be a tough matchup to handle for the American. Her counter-punching skills will be very useful in this match. The final match of the day will be between Pegula and Jabeur who are both playing this even so it will be interesting to see who does better.
