Martina Navratilova thinks that
Roger Federer would be ideally suited for an Ambassador or President role and it doesn't have to be for Switzerland necessarily.
Roger Federer is very popular around the world and that popularity makes him suitable for many different roles. The Swiss ace will certainly remain busy, especially after retiring from tennis a couple of months ago. According to Navratilova, he would be ideally suited to be an ambassador or even a president:
"Roger could be an ambassador, or maybe president. And it might not be Switzerland, either!."
She wrote it in a recent column she did and it also had her talking about him walking away from tennis. She has no doubt that he would not have walked away if he could still play tennis:
"Roger would no doubt still play if he could do it physically.
For players like Roger and Serena, it was a real blow. When
you get older, you live for the competition. You live to put it all out
there. You’re fine-tuning a little bit here and there, but you’re not
working on anything big anymore. You’re just focusing on trying to peak
for the for the big events. Without that goal, you have no goal.
