Nick Kyrgios hasn't played a match since Acapulco last February, staying at home during the coronavirus outbreak and keeping tennis away from the list of his main priorities.
Nick should return at the Australian Open in February, working on his game and sharing a video with an incredible point against Rafael Nadal from the last year's Melbourne event. It was their eighth meeting and the Spaniard's fifth victory, working hard to score a 6-3, 3-6, 7-6, 7-6 win in three hours and 38 minutes!
Both players scored two breaks and stayed neck and neck in sets three and four, with Nadal prevailing in the crucial moments to advance into the 12th Australian Open quarters.
Rafa won the opening set thanks to a break in the fourth game, controlling the pace and holding at love at 5-3 to move in front. Kyrgios survived a tough second set's opening game and gained momentum, stealing Nadal's serve at 2-1 and serving well to take it 6-3. The third set saw 12 good holds and a tie break that Nadal won 8-6 following Kyrgios' forehand error, moving a set away from the finish line.
Rafa delivered fury from the initial shot in set number four, breaking Nick and serving for the win at 5-4. Out of a sudden, the Aussie pulled the break back to reach another tie break, losing it 7-4 to propel Rafa into the last eight.
