Australia’s
Nick Kyrgios will reportedly feature at
Wimbledon
2025. The third Grand Slam of the year will begin from June 30 where players from
all over the world will participate to showcase their talent and secure the ultimate
prize.
As per the recent report by
We Are Tennis, Kyrgios will be featured at this year’s Wimbledon. The 30-year-old has not featured in the competition
since 2022, largely because of missing two years of action after suffering a
wrist injury. In that competition, he finished as the runner-up after losing
the final to Serbia’s Novak Djokovic with a score of 4–6, 6–3, 6–4, 7–6(7–3).
The report stated that the former world number 13 will use his
protective ranking to secure a spot in the competition's main draw. Kyrgios returned to the court in late 2024 but has struggled to maintain fitness and form. This year, he has only played in five matches, winning one and losing four.
His only victory in 2025 came in the first round of the
Miami Open, where he defeated America’s Mackenzie McDonald with a score of 3-6,
6-3, 6-4. It will be interesting to see whether the Canberra-born star will be
able to play in a high-intensity tournament, especially after what happened at
the Australian Open, where he was forced to retire from the first round. After
that match, the 30-year-old hinted that he might consider retirement from professional
tennis, at least in the singles category.
"I went out there, I would say 65% of my
capacity," he said as quoted by ESPN. "For [the fans] to really see
me fighting and still giving me that energy, it meant a lot, because I feel
like I've given my life to tennis and I've tried to give them a show every time
I go out there. Realistically, I can't see myself playing a singles match here
again."
