Rafael
Nadal appeared in an advertisement for Santander designed with AI, creating a
curious image of the 22-times Grand Slam champion. The Spanish bank has had the
tennis player as its main ambassador for several years, and in its new
advertising campaign, they chose an AI-generated image.
Fans
reacted with surprise to the AI-designed photo because it was evidently not a
real image of Nadal. The advertisement was seen on social media, and here is
the result: “Santander Spain used AI to add
Rafael Nadal, a brand ambassador,
in an advert… Nightmare fuel”
When does
Nadal return?
The
14-times French Open champion is fully focused on the clay season, particularly
his favorite Grand Slam. The Spaniard has not had the expected physical start
to the year and withdrew from tournaments like the Australian Open and the
Qatar Open this week to ensure a good recovery before the clay season.
However,
there's one more stop for the Spaniard before heading to European clay. Nadal
will play in
Indian Wells, his second tournament of the year, and has decided
not to enter the Miami Open to quickly travel from California to Europe and
prepare for the clay-court tournaments, where he hopes to showcase his best
level.
